This Privacy Policy explains how G-Volt Solar Energy (“G-Volt”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit our website, use our solar subsidy calculator, submit an enquiry, or buy our solar products and services. We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details: name, phone number, email address and location / district.
• Enquiry details: your average electricity bill, customer category (residential, commercial or industrial), preferred system size and any message you send.
• Survey and installation details: site address, roof and electrical details, and photographs of the installation site taken during the survey.
• Documents for subsidy, net-metering and finance applications, only when you ask us to help with them: for example your electricity consumer number, identity and address proof, and bank details required by the PM Surya Ghar portal, your DISCOM or your lender.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, recorded in server logs for security and to keep the website working.
• Information from cookies and similar technologies, described in section 6.

2. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry, call or message you, and email you the estimate you requested.
• To schedule and carry out site surveys, prepare quotations, and install, maintain and service your solar system.
• To apply for government subsidies, net-metering and approvals on your behalf, when you ask us to.
• To manage payments, invoices, warranties and after-sales support.
• To improve our website and services, and to keep them secure.
• To meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We will only send you promotional messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

3. Your consent

We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, use the subsidy calculator or sign a quotation, and where needed to perform our agreement with you or to comply with the law. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, but we may then be unable to continue providing the service.

4. Who we share your information with

We share personal data only as needed for the purposes above, with:

• Electricity distribution companies (TPCODL, TPNODL, TPWODL or TPSODL) for net-metering and connection approvals.
• Government portals and agencies, such as the PM Surya Ghar National Portal, for subsidy applications.
• Banks or finance companies, only if you ask us to help with a solar loan.
• Equipment manufacturers, for product registration and warranty claims.
• Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email delivery and maps, bound to protect your data.
• Authorities, where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted after [24 months]. Customer records are kept for the life of your system’s warranties and for the periods required by tax and other laws.

6. Cookies and third-party services

Our website uses essential cookies to work properly and may use analytics cookies to understand how it is used. Some pages include content from third parties, such as Google Maps, and links to WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, which may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features may then not work.

7. How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including secure hosting, restricted access to customer data and encrypted connections (HTTPS), to protect your personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a personal data breach where the law requires.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
• Ask us to correct, complete or update your personal data.
• Ask us to erase personal data we no longer need to keep.
• Withdraw your consent.
• Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
• Raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.
